10 Best Jobs For Someone With A Nursing Degree
You can do a lot with a nursing degree. To be fair, you will be utilizing the same skills in different settings in a lot of these positions but the setting can make all the difference. If you find one setting less enjoyable then you can always try another until you find the perfect setting for you. The upside of this is that you will have access to a variety of jobs and a variety of work schedules so that you will be able to sort through the options to determine what’s best for you.
Hospital Nurse
Everyone thinks of nurses working in hospitals in a variety of positions so this option bears mentioning. But you probably considered these options as soon as you thought of your nursing degree.
Pediatric Home Health Care
If you love children then you can go this route. Special needs children and their families often require the assistance of someone with a nursing degree. This is just the first of many settings where you can make a visible difference from day one.
Elder Home Health Care
You could also choose the other end of the spectrum and help the elderly population with your nursing degree. The percentage of the population that counts as elderly continues to grow and many require some assistance at home. You can help people to stay healthy and stay in their own homes.
Blood Donor Center Nurse
Working in this type of setting allows you to help save lives by collecting blood and performing related tasks. Nurses in general make good money but this setting may prove to be even more lucrative than other nursing positions.
Critical Care Transport Nurse
This type of nurse may need additional training which may include more than one nursing degree but if you are looking for an exciting and challenging career path then you are not likely to find any better than this. You go with patients being transferred from one place to another and make sure that their health is maintained during the trip.
MR/DD Nurse
An MR/DD nurse works with the mentally retarded and developmentally disabled individuals in society through an organization that provides care to these individuals. Or you could begin your own small business providing this level of care. You could work with MR/DD children or adults of all types who require some level of nursing care.
Amusement Park Nurse
Amusement parks have nurses and you could be one of them. This job may not have been your first thought but it could be a fun place to do your job.
National Or State Park Nurse
If you prefer more of a nature setting then you could seek out one of these coveted positions. National and state park nurses are often forgotten until they are needed but this is an option.
Zoo Nurse
In this case, the title zoo nurse is referring to a nurse who is trained to help human beings. In this setting, that demands mentioning. Again, this illustrates an unorthodox setting where you could employ your nursing skills.
Beach Nurse
That’s right. Some beaches employ nurses. You could be a nurse and work at the beach.

Academic Achievements
This line has great significance to me as a teacher. What I am now is not a matter of chance but of choice. I chose to be a teacher in fact, I married my chosen profession for twenty years. The preferred character traits like perseverance, determination, industry, patience and self-discipline added in shaping my personality and were contributory factors to my modest academic achievements.
